About the Position
Eden Gardens Private Hospital is currently recruiting for an Enrolled Nurse (Paediatrics) to join our dedicated nursing team in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Working closely with doctors, Professional Nurses and other healthcare professionals, the successful candidate will ensure that every patient receives comprehensive nursing care in accordance with the standards of Eden Gardens Private Hospital, the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and all relevant healthcare legislation.

Key Responsibilities
The successful Enrolled Nurse (Paediatrics) will be responsible for:
- Delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality nursing care to paediatric patients.
- Maintaining all health, safety and infection prevention standards to ensure a safe patient environment.
- Monitoring patients and promptly reporting any changes in their condition.
- Accurately documenting all nursing interventions, observations and patient records.
- Educating patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication and ongoing care.
- Assisting in maintaining appropriate stock levels and minimising unnecessary stock wastage.
- Working collaboratively with doctors, Professional Nurses and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ensuring that all nursing activities comply with hospital policies, healthcare legislation and South African Nursing Council (SANC) regulations.
- Promoting patient safety, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Contributing to a positive working environment focused on quality patient outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants applying for the Enrolled Nurse (Paediatrics) position should meet the following requirements:
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Previous experience in a paediatric ward or healthcare environment will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Sound clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
